Pegasus Mental Health Service

Mental Health & Wellbeing Support

Our mental health and wellbeing programmes work with your general practice team to support you.

If you’re struggling with your mental health, you may be able to access up to five free sessions to assess what’s going on for you, give you treatment and refer you to specialist services if needed.

Brief Intervention Talking Therapy (BITT) is a non-urgent service for people over 16 years old who need short-term support with their mental wellbeing.

It is a private and confidential process that allows you to talk with an experienced mental health clinician. The clinician will work with you to find coping strategies that are helpful and lasting. For many people, the most helpful thing about BITT is talking to someone they can trust and come up with a plan.

Hummingbird Psychology

Lizzie Scott

Registered Psychologist

I believe that within all of us there are strengths and capabilities that we can access and grow to help us cope with the challenges that modern daily life can bring. At times we can access these skills for ourselves or with the support of loved ones, however sometimes, when that feels too hard a task, seeking the support of a professional can be crucial to regaining overall wellbeing. Providing high quality and effective therapy is important to me and I incorporate a range of therapeutic techniques into my practice including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Mindfulness. My practice is evidence-based which means that the therapy I provide follows best practice guidelines and is grounded in current research based principles and techniques.

Lizzie is available on Tuesdays at Halswell Road Clinic.

Victoria Biddick Nutrition

Victoria Biddick

NZ Associate Registered Nutritionist (ARNutr)

BAppSc (Human Nutrition), BAppSc (Food Science)

A lifetime of eating and showing manaaki through feeding others has led me to this role where I support people to nourish themselves by providing nutrition advice and guidance.

Diets that focus on short-term gain through restriction are unsustainable and often lead to weight gain and overeating. Eating to nourish ourselves is a journey, and making small, achievable changes over time is more likely to result in long-term habits.

Using a non-diet approach, we will focus on the adding nourishing foods to meals, making healthy swaps, and refining your diet and lifestyle to support your health and wellness journey.

Nutrition needs change based on age, stage, and lifestyle. I provide realistic and practical nutritional support for life’s transitions, helping you feel in control of changes occurring.

A special area of interest for me is providing nutrition support for women during menopause.

Victoria is available on Thursdays at the Halswell Road Clinic.
